Level 3 Update

Wed Feb 17 09:03am

Good morning!

Today there will be an important press conference held at 4.30 pm which will give us an idea of what tomorrow will look like.  Please keep an eye out on our Facebook page, website, school app and in your inbox for an update which will come out after the press conference this afternoon.

Our school office is open today between 9 am and 3 pm if you need to collect hard copies of work for your child.  School is open at Level 3 for the children of essential workers only.  If your situation has changed and you need to send your child to school, please email kbush@bis.school.nz to make arrangements.

9.30 am online video calls will happen again today with your child’s whānau teacher, so please take the time to check in with them if you can.

We hope you are all enjoying this time in your bubbles and we look forward to seeing you all at school again in the near future.

Covid Alert Level 3 – Returning to school for essential workers and collection of school work.

Tue Feb 16 07:45am

Good morning!

Today the school is open for children of essential workers only.  You must have emailed Katrina Bush to notify her of the days your child will be attending to ensure we have enough staff on site for supervision.  Students need to bring their own lunch and water bottle as the fountains will be closed.  Correct school uniform is also required.

The school office is open today between 9 and 3 for whānau to come in and collect school work for the next (hopefully) few days.  Please send only one person per family, wear a mask if possible, use the hand sanitiser provided and keep at a sensible distance from others.  Of course, if you are feeling unwell, please stay home and send someone else on your behalf.  If you can’t make it in today, the office will be open tomorrow as well.

Our first school online video calls will begin today.  You should have heard from your child’s teacher as to the time and the link.  If you haven’t received an email, please email your child’s whānau teacher.  You can find a full list of emails at https://bis.school.nz/staff/ .

Keep an eye out for more information coming over the next few days as to when we may return to school under Level 2.

 Stay safe everyone!

Home Learning for Week 3 Term 1

Mon Feb 15 11:26am

Kia ora e te whanau,

The school will be open tomorrow for the children of essential workers only. If your child will be at school, you should have emailed Katrina Bush so that we have planned for this – kbush@bis.school.nz

A paper copy of this week’s home learning can be collected from school any time between 9 am – 3 pm. The gates will be open so you can drive in, scan at the door and collect the worksheet from the table inside the reception area.

Whanau books are also available to collect.

The first zoom call will be made at 9.30 am on Tuesday from whanau teachers. This is a chance for teachers to connect with all students and ensure that everyone is able to access home learning. Teachers will do a roll call at this time. Your child’s whanau teacher will attempt to make contact with your child each day. Please make sure they have your email address.

Mrs. Sutton will be checking the school answer phone so you can leave messages if email is not an option for you.

Most importantly, we want you to be safe. Your wellbeing is your first priority so if home learning doesn’t happen, please do not let this become an added pressure for you and your whanau.

Principal / Tumuaki

Auckland moving to Level 3

Sun Feb 14 07:32pm

Kia Ora e te whanau,

As you will be aware Auckland is moving into alert level 3 tonight. This means that we will be utilising our pandemic plan.

Tomorrow (Monday) will be a planning day for all staff, and students are asked to stay at home. Consider this a long weekend. Use the time to enjoy whanau time and get ready for some home learning.

All teachers will be using email to communicate the learning Plan for the days that we are in level 3.  If you are an essential worker please email kbush@bis.school.nz to alert us to the fact that your child will be at school on Tuesday and Wednesday. All other students will remain at home and will have some home learning emailed. Work will also be shared on our website and Facebook pages. Some Staff will be on site tomorrow to organise paper copies that can be collected from Tuesday. All collections will be contactless.
Most importantly, stay safe and stay home.
