Yearbook Sponsorship

Tue Nov 23 11:48am

Our school yearbook comes out at the end of each year and is a celebration of the year that has been.  It is mostly a visual story of the events, the people and the learning that has taken place throughout the year.  The yearbook contains a page for each class plus pages dedicated to the school production, sports, the arts, special days and education outside the classroom.

Our students love having a keepsake of the year as it contains photos of all students and is a reminder of the fun things that have taken place over the year.

Because we want every student to have a record of 2021, we provide these yearbooks free of charge to every student.  To cover the costs of publication, we ask for sponsorship.

To sponsor a page in our yearbook, simply complete the google form (link below) and before Friday 26th November with your message and put through your sponsorship payment via kindo or online banking.  Messages should be school-related (not a company endorsement or advertisement) and should include your child’s name or the family name. Maximum 25 words.   Here are a few examples;

The Smith Family thanks Birkdale Intermediate for 2 fantastic years of learning.

Tom Bryan has loved his year at BIS and all his friends in Room 18.

The cost per page sponsorship is $30.00.  Thank you for supporting our yearbook and helping to fund this precious memory book of the 2021 school year.

Governments announcement today about returning to school:

Wed Nov 10 02:11pm

Kia ora everyone,

You would have heard in the government announcement today at 1 pm that Minister Hipkins has given the all-clear for schools to return in a part-time capacity from Wednesday the 17th of November.

Our management team will be meeting over the next few days to consider how this will happen and what returning to Birkdale Intermediate School will look like from next Wednesday.  We will send more information out to you via email as these decisions are made.

We would like to have your feedback on the return to school so please follow the link at the bottom of this message to complete the very quick survey about the return to school.

In the meantime, we will continue online learning this week, and Monday and Tuesday next week.

Ngā mihi

Alert Level 3 Update

Mon Sep 20 06:29pm

Kia ora e te whānau,

As you heard today, Auckland moves into alert level 3 at midnight on Tuesday 21nd September. this means that our school is open for students who are the children of essential workers (from Wednesday the 22nd September) who have no other childcare arrangements.

If your child will be attending school in level 3, you must register them with Katrina Bush so we can add them to a bubble. There will be 10 students in a bubble and we have offered places to siblings to keep whānau in the same bubble. To register, email – kbush@bis.school.nz

Birkdale Intermediate will be open from 9am – 3pm each day and students must be dropped off and picked up from the front gate. Students must bring their own stationery, lunch and drink bottle and must adhere to level 3 health and safety practices. Unwell students must not attend school.

Once your child is registered, Mrs. Bush will confirm this with an email to you telling you what bubble your child will be in and what room they will work in.

At the start of the year, we planned and informed parents of a teacher-only day on Friday 1 October. We will be continuing with this teacher-only day meaning that the last day of term 3 will be Thursday 30 September.
