WHATS HAPPENING AT BIRKDALE INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL ?
BIS Fundraising – MAMA’S DOUGHNUTS!Fri Jun 25 04:34pm
Kia ora e te whanau,
We had a wonderful meeting on Monday night with parents who are interested in forming a fundraising committee for the school.
The purpose of this committee is to lead school-based fundraising initiatives so that we can continue to purchase or improve areas or items in our school that our tamariki need to support their goals. The committee has now built a calendar of initiatives for the remainder of the year including ideas that range from food fundraisers, a performance event, marathon, quiz nights and movie nights. Each fundraising event will be looking to raise funds to go towards actual items that our Tamariki can use now, so as a community of parents you can see the reward of the effort.
We will be looking and will appreciate all support to achieve this in the form of volunteering of your time, expertise or products I.e. if you have contacts that can help or if you can donate items for raffles, alcohol for quiz nights..etc… We will aim to publish these key events in the next newsletter so you have adequate notice.
Please contact Becs Reti (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Abi Foster (email@example.com) if you have any questions or can offer support.
Our first fundraiser
Our first goal is to raise funds to purchase and install a water bottle refilling station. The school has identified that there are more hygienic ways rather than the current drinking fountains and they want to push the message of drinking water. We think this is a great project as all students will benefit from this.
To support this we will be running a ‘Mamas Donuts’ and cake and coffee fundraiser to coincide with the parent-teacher conferences on the 8th of July.
You or your wider whanau can support this in two ways:
Pre-ordering either a 4 pack ($12), 8 pack ($24), 12 pack ($36) or more of tasty glazed Mamas donuts. You can do this via the Kindo app or by completing the pre-order form, bringing this back to school and depositing the funds into the school account: 12-3035-0413925-01. Please use name and Donut as reference. this will be open until the 5pm Monday the 5th of July. Your donuts will be ready for pick up in the school hall on Thursday the 8th of July during the parent/teacher conference (4 – 8 pm)
In addition, we will be hosting a cake and coffee/tea drop during the same times as the parent/teacher conference (4 – 8 pm), where we invite you to pop into the hall and join/meet some of the leadership team and School Board where you can have a natter over a coffee or tea and something sweet (Donut or some baking for $5). We will be looking for donations of cakes/slices to be dropped at the office the morning of.
Thanks for your support.
